I Release You

If I surrender my heart to you
     would you look after it
     care and cherish it?

Are you willing to say those sacred vows
     and keep them
locked in your heart for always?

As I stare into your eyes
there is a coldness lingering within
which makes me doubt your love.

I'm thinking it is a false love
an impoverish and unpredictable love
that I want no part in -

If I surrender my heart to you,
It would only be destroyed
and burnt upon the pire of hopelessness.

Therefore, I'll keep my heart
     And Release You -
