I Breath You In... 2004

Like a warm breeze, you come to me;
With a promise in your eyes
That speaks of blue skies
And a summer that will never end.
I breathe you in. You give me life.

Like the ever changing Colorado skies, you come to me.
I am never quite certain
If you've come to warm my skin or to chill my heart.
You often leave me confused.
I breathe you in. Then, I breathe you out.

Like a small child, you come to me.
With a question on your lips and doubt in your smile.
The truth that I speak
Is not the truth that you hear.
I breathe you in. I want to scream out in a voice that you can hear.

Like a deep, warm river, you come to me.
With a caress that flows through to my spirit
And makes me long to bathe myself in your eyes for an eternity.
The passion that you pour over me moves me to tears.
I breathe you in. I savor the memory of your touch.

Like a verse in my mind, you come to me.
Never do I write you down in pen.
You are not permanent and cannot be.
A verse that eludes completion,
You are not meant to be held as you so choose.
I breathe you in. I dream of the ending that could be ours.
Then, I breathe you in again….
