Heart Of The Matter

To And Fro

I didn't think I'd travelled far,
Was simply driving in my car,
I drove till I run out of road,
Standstill now, no fixed abode.

Double back to where I'd been,
Glimpse a future broken dream,
Looking forward, drawing back,
Find direction's what I lack.

To the left or to the right,
Don't give up without a fight,
Sit up tall and stand my ground,
Can't break free, my hands are bound.

My destiny, or is it fate,
That I should simply sit and wait,
The tides will turn, they come and go,
I play the game, a seed I sow.

I'm here today, my time is mine,
Just passing through, I'm doing fine,
I have a place where I can go,
For now, I'm going to and fro.
