 Where Silver Tears Do Rust

Forbidden Realm

Drifting peacefully over a green meadow, I enter a place I've not yet been before. The maze of shadows leads me into a forbidden realm where fantasy seems reality. He, who comes to me, brings warmth into the shadows. His eyes are soft and beckoning. Unaware of earthly taboos, we are drawn unto one another. His touch is gentle, strong. His kisses are undemanding. His gift to me is the ecstasy of himself. Two hearts alone, together. He and I soaring high above the shadows of the forbidden realm. All at once, I awaken to sparrows singing in an old oak tree outside of me bedroom window. In a moment, he is gone. Perhaps he too dreamt of a forbidden place in the shadows. Perhaps he and I shall soar together in that place once more. But if not, I shall forever savor his kiss and revel in the ecstasy of he who came to me in the silence of my dreams…
