I-Don't-Want-To!
I don't want to feel the way I do-
I don't want to spend endless hours
With you on my heart and my mind-
I don't want to wonder what it is you do,
Or if there is happiness in the life you chose-
I don't want to feel you across these miles
Feeling your angst so profound-
I don't want to taste your sweet kiss
Only to find it was but another dream-
I don't want to hear your voice
And turn to find another standing there-
I don't want to desire what we said we wanted
As it shall simply not come to pass-
I don't want to love you…
But God help me, I do.
