A year ago September the 11th, now a dark day in history,
Terrorists struck our homeland, their purpose no mystery.
Their evil wanted to destroy us, an they left a painful scar,
But our Nation didn't cower, with Americans they went too far.
Theres fifty stars upon our flag, each State rallied to the cause,
Rushing to their Sister States, without the slightest pause.
Let Us honor countless Hero's, both alive and those in death,
Those that worked so laborously, those who took their final breath.
The nightmare of twisted metal, painstakingly cleared away,
The innocent lives who perished, on that fated September day.
The grounds still soaked with tears, our hearts still filled with grief,
This tragedy strengthened our Unity, an brought forth courage beyond belief.
Our Armed Forces on the move, their both capable and brave,
We'll not succumb to Terrorists, we'll fight terrorism to the grave.
On the land, in the air, or out there on the sea,
Enduring Freedom will prevail, to keep our Homeland free.
Our Country stands United, all our voices have been heard,
The symbols of Our Homeland, stand for more than just a word.
Our Miss Liberty standing stately, for truth and justice is alive,
Old Glory flying proudly, showing the World We Will Survive.
