LondonI love your misty mornings, And your bracing evening breeze. I love your parks and gardens, And your great oak trees. I love your terraced houses, Along ordered, tree lined streets. I love your big red buses, Riding one is such a treat. I love your West End theatres, Restaurants, gallery's and shops. I love your endless bustle, It never ever stops. I love the Thames Embankment, With shore, lined with lights. I love the Tower of London, What an overwhelming sight. I love lively Covent Garden, With outdoor coffee tables. I love to watch the buskers, Earn as much as they are able. I love the London Underground, With trains, always on time. I love evensong in Westminster Abbey, With music so sublime. I'm loath to leave you London, I hate to say goodbye. You'll always be a part of me, Don't scold me if I cry. Joy Weare 2nd August, 2004. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
