I Want You To See

When you look into a mirror
There is an image that has come to be
But I have another image for you
That I am begging you to see

I see someone who is beautiful
Whose heart is made of gold
Someone with eyes that mock the stars
Two firm hands I'd die to hold

I see a person who is gentle
Who would do anything for love
Sacrificing all that he has
Never himself the one he's thinking of

I see kindness and sweet tenderness
Arms that would keep me safe
A smile that should be seen more often
And soft lips I long to trace

So look deeply into that mirror my love
See that the one I love looks back at you
Forget what life paints in front of your eyes
And see the reflection that is true
