Both a Hearer and a DoerJames 1:19-23 Let every man and woman be swift to hear, Slow to speak and anger with a Godly fear; The wrath of man is not of righteousness, That God has showered us in blessedness; Separate yourself from a filthiness of sin, In meekness of the Word to cleanse within; It's the means which your soul able to save, By stopping the work of Satan as his slave; Being a doer of the Word able to perceive, Or else a hearer that yourself you deceive; For if you are a hearer rather than a doer, Blessings from God will be naturally fewer. Ever hear in one ear as going out the other, Just as a child in listening to his mother; No longer paid attention to what was said, The mind busy in another direction instead; Maybe the same with our Heavenly Father, His whisper into one ear going no further; Pay attention to what God says and listen, Be a both a hearer and a doer to hasten.
