Email Poem | Today's Poetry
A young girl, at the age of three
She tries to recall the face of mommy
As they bring her forth
Surrounded by others
Their future – sold into slavery

Remembering a time of a mother’s knee
She rocked and sang…Cry to me
Oh baby – remember this – He loves all
All of humanity
You’ll hear Him whisper
Cry to Me

As the men come
Come and go
She endures the pain of her daughter’s coming sorrow
To have no choice
A silenced voice
No hope today – the same tomorrow

Still inside…she holds on tight
Drifting away on the sounds of a lullaby
Silence my child
You were born free
Look up…cry to Me

I see your pain
I feel your prayers
Wrapped with tears of cleansing rain
I am here…the One who cares
On My knee…cry to Me
Oh – If only you could hear My prayers
As I look down and all around
Pleading for all
All of humanity
Oh – cry to Me
Trying patiently to give every chance
Time slipping through My right hand

Mornings here – time to wake
My baby girl…they came to take
One last embrace…remember my face
He love you – You’ll hear Him too
Oh baby girl – cry to Me
Born free – cry to Me

Jesus is pleading

Cry to Me
