Trapped...Caught In The Middle!Trapped…caught in the middle No way out that she can see! Fear, encased in a fear so deep, That all she wants is to be set free! But life isn't that easy is it! For we have atrocities so harsh and vile! And the culprits, what can I say, They look to your face…and smile! They know what it is they do! And know that retaliation is so weak! For all they get is a slap! For the evil that they reap! Things badly need to change, They should make them pay the price! So that we can know for sure, That they won't repeat it twice! Corporal punishment, capital punishment, Yes! I vote for it all – I do! And for those who tell me to my face! ‘If it was your son, what would you do? It would be different then!' They say! ‘For you wouldn't want it to be your kin! Because when it happens to ones own… You wouldn't want them killed for a sin!' I will tell you what my reply always is! And I vow all I say is true of me! If my kids ever did that! I am the last person they would see! They won't need capital punishment, For deeds done to others so vile! For I swear by all that's holy… I will take them that one last mile! ‘Can she?' You ask yourself, I bet she can't! Well this I tell you true… When something happens so bad to your own! You do what you have to do! Do Unto Others As They Do Unto You! Irrelevant Of Who They Are! No Double Standards In My Life! Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
