All alone in my room, with nothing at hand,
listening to music, from some old lost band.
My mind often wonders, back through the years,
with memories of laughter, and all the shed tears.
Like quite afternoons, with someone you love,
or loosing a loved one, to God up above.
The smile on your face, with babies first step,
or the lock of their hair, that you've always kept.
Its moonbeams, and daydreams, and nightmares alike,
or watching your children, ride their first bike.
Its holidays and birthdays, an good friends you've had,
or the hugs and the lectures, from both Mom and Dad.
Its bouquets and candies, and cards from the heart,
and tears on your pillow, when loves torn apart.
Its mistakes and bad judgements, they all come to mind,
so learn all you can, and always be kind.
Weddings and pictures, Bride and Groom on the cake,
the proof in their loving, is the babies they make.
Distrust to divorce, now your life spent alone,
children cry for their Daddy, now that hes gone.
Some memories are wonderful, others tear you apart,
but most of the time, there safely locked in your heart.
You can't rearrange them, and they won't go away,
there yours for the taking, with each passing day.
