More Olympics (written as it happens)

Space station
Sends greetings.
Past Olympians,
Flash loud.

A great hunk of man,
Falls over in style,
And others keep coming,
Each one in full smile.

And the speeches,
Are flowing,
Giving flight
To our souls.

A mix of Greek
And of English,
Flows freely
And full.

The crowd hushly listens,
And Angela smiles,
As Jacques talks so mildly,
Of a world in full peace.

And the clapping,
Continues,
And the bells cling,
So clear!

Olive branches
Wave gently,
More peaceful
Then guns.

And now there is darkness,
As men dressed in white,
Hold the large flag,
So proudly,
The people so quiet!

The big flag is so heavy,
These men are so strong,
And still they keep walking,
Each step is their song.

Greek anthem is merging,
As sweet children add soul,
Each singer is giving,
Of themselves, fully whole.

The oath is said proudly.

A dove is seen flying,
Followed by athletes,
So light,
Each one with a candle,
Held high and so bright.

Torch bearers are running,
And sharing their light,
Pass it on in sure smiles,
Keep running so light.

And the crowd keeps applauding,
As he runs up the stairs,
The mechanical candle,
Sends sparks in the air.

The fireworks soon echo,
Explosively sharp,
Sending colour, in showers
That light up the dark.

Such a hot August night,
Covered in sparks,
All dancing in rhythm
All light and no dark!!
