She Died A Little Bit More Each Day...

Every minute of every day,
She died a little bit more,
For she wanted to be loved so much
And she didn't even know what for!
Her heart did a flip and she felt sick,
Every-time she thought of him.
And every minute she died a little bit more,
For his love she didn't win.

Her head was messed up, it was jumbled,
She couldn't see an end to her pain,
And every day she died a little bit more,
And felt there was nothing left to gain.
She was on a roller-coaster,
One minute up then down again,
For every time she thought he might love her,
He instilled in her more violence and pain!

She died a little more each day,
Every time she thought of him,
And every minute that passed her by,
Are thoughts of a love she couldn't win!
She never wants to see him again?
She never wants to see those maddened eyes,
Because every day she died a little bit more,
And she couldn't suppress her cries!

She was never loved by him,
And hopes he will forever live in shame!
Because for every minute it hurt her so,
She died a little more with every pain
She would never be held in his grip again,
Never to be glared at by those eyes of blue,
And never to feel the stench of his breath on her cheek,
She died a little bit more, but didn't know what to do?

She needed to know she won't be bound in his arms,
And gaze into those eyes she hates so blue
And see the evil that shone for her,
She died a little bit more every day, that's true!
She thought she was alone in her plight,
And thought it was all her fault too!
Because she never knew any different!
But now she knows that's not true!

No fatherly love, not once,
No hugs or kisses from him!
But now she knows it was all wrong,
And she prevailed, he didn't win!
She walked the walk and survived!
And for those children of abuse,
Never blame yourself, not once!
Because they pass the guilt – but it's no use!

Because It Isn't ‘Your' Fault!  It's Theirs!
