The One I Turn To - Inspirational Writings & Poetry of Julie Pisacane
What To Wear
Clothes finely pressed and hair in place
Elegant jewels and a fresh powdered face.
Fanciful gaze and a nose tilted high,
So high that it reaches the tip of the sky.
Pride and arrogance are a burdensome chain
Yet for some they think it will give them gain.
Gain to a world filled with mud and greed
Ways of destruction that attain more speed.
There are other suits that we can wear.
Try on a bit of kindness or perhaps some fair.
Goodness, tenderness, loving and trust
Are blessed fashions that neither fade nor rust.
Now is a perfect time to bow our heads
And ask for a different change of threads.
I want something to show the Spirit of Love.
Dress me in a rainbow, colors sent from above.
I pray that others can then understand
Store bought attire is not all that grand.
I hope that mankind will realize and see
How peace and love are true gems of beauty.
