Chains That Bind Her
She knows these chains that bind her
Are chains that she has made
She has made herself a prisoner
Jailed by her yesterdays
She condemned herself to this life
Every time she made a mistake
Chances given to her time and again
But not choosing to fly away
Could it be she has given up
But how she acts so strong
Feeling the burning of these chains
That have bound her all along
Before she can heal her wounds
She feels she must forgive herself
Never realizing that the mistakes she made
May have been made by someone else
On her path of self destruction
A daily crucifiction for her sin
Wishing but scared to be freed
From the chains that bind her now within

Dust In The Wind
Are chains that she has made
