No Way Back!I thought there was no way back, And that's something I had to find out, Because I live only for the future, Of that there is no doubt! So I plodded on through life, Just as I usually plod along, Then something happened late one night, And I wasn't sure if it was right, or wrong. So I needed to find out, for me, And decided to explore… And though I thought there was no way back, I now don't think it any more. Because you see, I needed to know, To put my own mind at rest, So I needed to go back in time, For me, it was merely a test! So inside my head I popped back into the past, To see what I could see, And once I was there, I knew for sure, I could rid the anger that lived in me! But going back was so very hard, What a can of worms there was to find, But to rid the fears and pain in me, I knew the past wasn't going to be very kind. I went for a walk in the past part of my life, To see what it was I needed to see, And there it was, a high brick wall, I had to smash that wall that was the fear in me! So I beat it and beat it and beat it some more, Until every brick was down, job done, And I knew right there and then… This was yet another fight I had won. But this was the fight inside me, The one I didn't even know was there, It was tearing me apart, only I didn't know, But it caused a pain in me that was unfair! So yes, there was a way back for me, To see and do what I needed to do, And now I can safely say once more, That yes, it was another trial that I came through! So next time there's a crisis in me, And it came from way back in the past, I won't worry any more, For I found that way back – at last! But then I skipped into the present, And laid that dragon down, No more the fear, no more the pain, No more the worrying frown! ***Because I Left It In The Past*** Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
