White Flag
With shaken hands she raises
A white flag to life
Admitting defeat to it all
The pain, worry, and strife
It was a steadfast victory
Oh how she was overcome
As she tried to stop the onslaught
By making herself numb
What reason had this predator
To shred a world apart
To even invade the sanctity
Of a worn and weary heart
We see now a battered victim
That was caught unaware
In her hands a white flag to life
Trembling in the air
