Someday I'll be an Adult, looking out at the world on my own,
I'll look to my past fondly, at a Teacher I'm proud to have known.
I'll hope that I made an impression, if I run into Her someplace,
just a sparkel of recognition, there'll be a smile upon Her face.
But for now I'm just little Hannah, wishing I wasn't so shy,
theres so much to do and learn, I'll give it my best I'll try.
And thank you for being my Teacher, as this is my first big step,
it was very hard on my Moma, she sat for days and wept.
It takes so much to grow up, so much to learn and do,
alone I couldn't do it, I need the lessons taught by you.
You're my very first Teacher, an no other will mean the same,
for its You who'll get me started, and teach me to spell my name.
But now I'm glad to be little, You make learning a whole lot of fun,
and you'll make me smart I know, by the time this year is done.
And when the year is over, I hope you're proud of Me,
with no black marks on my report card, for Mom and Dad to see.
You're getting me ready for the future, who knows how far I'll go,
but I'll work real hard I promise, to let My knowledge grow.
Who knows one year I might call you, to speak of the year we spent,
I'd say Mrs. Stanley its Hannah, I'm the first female President.

My Grandaughter wanted me to write her Teacher a poem so she could give it to her, so this is what i came up with.
