In Response…!I thank you for your poem this day, It's truly lovely, with nice things to say! But I don't deserve it - I think that is true, For all I did, was tell the truth to you! Gracious words, no, not at all, Just genuine encouragement to a poet, I want you to realise how great your work is, And I really think that you should know it! I am writing all the time, it's my joy, And I love to see words appear… To see what pops out on the paper that day, About maybe, love, insight, joy or fear! For the writer I believe who writes… From the heart, and deep within so true, Is the best kind of writer there is… For the feelings omitting comes through! You see Nick, all I'm doing is telling the truth, But it's so lovely of you to give me praise, And one day, I swear on all I believe, You will be published one of these days!!! All I need to work on is your attitude, To give you confidence and gain…! The ability to finally admit to your gift, For to hide it is really a shame! So for now, I shall be laid back, For one day I shall surely see… Your wonderful work published, in print… Just as I have promised it will be! So mark my words, and trust me, For I tell it as it is, because it's true… Your are a brilliant writer, And yes Nick, it really does shine through! So mark my words, Nick my friend! Take all in, and watch this space, For one day soon…you'll wear a smile… It will be plastered on your face! But for now, as I say, I won't push you – not just yet anyway!
