Itanong mo sa buwan ang bulong ng damdamin,
At isasakdal niya sa lamig ng paligid,
“Iniibig ka niya datapwat may takot.
Ang puso niyang duwag sa gawang paghatol!”
Itanong mo sa mga bituin ang kabuuan ng buhay,
At sa kanilang liwanag sila’y magsasaysay,
“Ikaw lamang ang lahat at wala ng iba pa,
Na pinakamimithi niya o pinakaaasam.”
Itanong mo sa araw ang laman nitong puso.
Gayundin sa buwan ang damdaming mataos;
At sa mga bituing sa atin ay totoong maglalapit,
At kanilang ihahayag kung gaano ka kamahal sa akin.
