Anger's Animal
A question about the human race
What makes us better than all the rest?
For when tempers flare and emotion calls
We become anger's animal at best
With razored claws to tear and slash
Venom to come from poisoned lips
Not caring an ounce for our victim
Nor the wrath under our fingertips
With a howl that resounds to strike fear
How quickly it seeks to gain control
As prey trembles beneath it's steely gaze
A look to make even warm blood run cold
No other beast can we recognize as this
Anger's animal knows well its name
Yet in the fire of its hurtful wrath
It is the hardest animal to tame
