Tea And Biscuits? It's the norm in an old folk's home, To be offered tea and biscuits galore, With slops inside the saucer, And crumbs all over the floor! A little nibble here and there, And a slurp of tea to boot! And as you take another sip, She slops it all over your boot! A gentle doddery hand holds the saucer, And the biscuit fell inside the tea! And as she holds the tea pot out, She pours another one for me! The rich tea are floating and melting, In the cup that have turned to slop, And every time I drink some more, Another bit would drop! Little pinky finger shakes, As she holds onto the handle fast! Another crumbling biscuit on her lap, They were melting really fast! By the time she gets through the biscuits, The teas gone cold in the pot, And there she goes, pours another one out, And cor blimey it aint even hot! So I eat the biscuits in me hand, And slurp the last of the tea, Then I leg it through the door, Cos that's enough tea and biscuits for me! Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
