A day that defines tragedy
It was a Tuesday morning on Sept.11,2001
All our nation was in mourning
Terrorist killed loved ones, never to return home
Who would have known a routine day
Would make history in such a tragic way
Structures are rebuilt with memorials in place
Yet hearts are still broken, time can't erase
Hundreds of heroes didn't survive
While in flight,at work, and firemens lives
All of this in the blink of an eye
Lord comfort the loved ones left behind
The sad part is,it hasn't ended
For many heroes are dying at war to defend
Our countries freedom to the end
God bless our soldiers and protect them within
Pray for mankind to build and restore
Faith that loss loved ones went home with the Lord
Pray our soldiers to come home from the war
Faith in a bright future forever more
I was also having a routine day,
chatting on the phone when my Sis
said quick...turn the T.V. on!
My hubby was on vacation,
I'm thankful I was not alone.
Cause the anguish and grief
for the tragedy that played before my eyes
Makes all stop and think of precious lives.
