As I Sleep, As I Wake[As I sleep] His arms curled warm, around As he stood stoically behind His breath dancing in my ear. He caressed my skin That wraps 'round this heart Pounding While he held me near. Lilting laughter tickled my throat As I sat in perfect content. Looking deeply Into the shrouds of his eyes That held for me Not even the smallest of lies. Caring no more Of any past sorrows Nor stopping to wonder Where my unhappiness went. His lips embraced mine For that one momentous kiss In this Perfect Moment That was nearly erotic With its loving innocence. [As I Wake] I realize I was only observing An [us] as this 'greeting card' moment in time Took its place deep within my mind. Floating above This love fulfilled space My 'real' mind has yet to find. Eyes open, I sit quietly Alone To sweetly reminisce On his encompassing embrace And that one beautiful dream kiss. Watching As the rain pours down.. Just wanting to touch This dream one more time Before I go back To face this life That is [what is] Really mine. Copyright2004surrealdancingpoetry Vote for this poem
