For My Mother

I am feeling quite sad today
As you are no longer here
I still cannot believe
That today it has been a year,
There is a picture of you on the wall
From many years ago
You are smiling and very happy
And once again I am missing you so,
Many things have changed in my life
Over this past year
And now all I have of you are memories
That I will always hold dear,
I have heard them say it's been a year
And it is time to let you go
But how can you forget the one
Who has loved you so?
And as my view of life has changed
From the way it used to be
The one thing I am certain of
Is that you will always be with me
