Head vs Heart
He wants to be with me
forever times whatever 365
I don't want to make a mistake
so I must think it over before it can't be taken back
I have been here before and not quite got it right
him or me someone messed it up and I lost count
now I look before I leap
love had never been kind or even cheap
the stakes of giving my heart to just anyone
too often it's been me left holding the bag
something beautiful ends it can be quite a drag
the moping and the sadness something I don't want to go back to
so I will think it over...do more than just sleep on it
learning from all the heartache something good can be born of something bad...all is lost one day I know can be found
There is something there or I wouldn't entertain the thought
of this magical feeling creeping into my head
it's there just dancing and waiting....
for my head to catch up to my heart.
