To walk the path of the righteous
a rutted slender dirt path
Surrounded by the super highways
where temptation is always had
A pound of money for misery
a ton for a life to claim
To take from those weaker
and drive a community insane.
We see the children watching
with both parents cold and tired
To work and make better
while the child is of getting higher
They see the money on the streets
the fancy cars to be had
And the only real requirement
is you have to do things bad.
The gangs is the only protection
from a community standing afraid
The police come in pairs
for the want to see other days
The pack of hungry Humanity
preys upon its own kind
To eat their fruit of labor
a cannibalism of the mind.
So where is the solution
for all the prisons seem full
The deterioration of society is being eaten
when its body isn't even cold
And the officials we have elected
sit high on capitol hill
Thinking about other lands
while its voter are lying quite still
The death of tomorrow is upon us
like Sodom and Gomorrah before
Will the evil be purged by fire
or the meeting of an ocean floor.
So the words of law are before us
but no one seems able to read
the language they call laws
is a tangled web that they've weave
For the money still but freedom
though the politicians say is not so
But the ones who walk the street of the free
are the criminals with all the dough.
