This weekend, I finally watched THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST~~~~~I had wanted to see it when it was in the theaters, but my daughter was concerned that it was too graphic~~~~she was worried about my heart disease~~~~~~~
So, I waited and watched it on TV at a friend's home on Saturday afternoon~~~~~~~~~~~
A close friend sent me an ecard with a small waterfall and a stream~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This poem is the result of watching the movie~~~~and tears that would fill a stream.....
Teardrops in the Stream
Breaking hearts; just keep on dreaming,
Traveling near Life's stormy stream.
Aching hearts; just keep on trying,
Shedding teardrops in the stream.
Gently flowing through dappled sunshine,
Teardrops fall, and the stream reflects,
Tears of ages; The Lord is crying
His Only Son they disrespect.
Torn and Bleeding, battered, broken
Baring His Cross; He gladly goes.
Striving toward the Mount called Calvary
My greatest sins to overthrow.
Can the tears I shed replenish
That stormy stream where first I lied,
Cheated, rendered all His Teachings
Barren; while on that Cross He Died.
'Twas His Love for me, Unyielding,
The Greatest LOVE this world has known:
He Bled, He Died, Then Rose~~revealing
God's Greatest Mercy ever shown.
These tears can only be diminished
If I accept Him at His Word
And learn to Love, as He has shown me,
Unyielding Love for my Precious Lord.
Then those teardrops will flow unbroken
From stormy stream to open sea.
Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior,
Who gave His Life for such as me.
