Oh Blimey, What A Tale!

‘The house is a mess!' He tells me everyday,
‘Oh don't you worry lad,' you'll hear me say!
'But I've got boxes all over the floor,
And me mother just can't take anymore!'

Well I always tell him not to fret,
But I have to say, I'd not seen it yet!
So on and on and on he'll drone,
Telling me that his house isn't a home!

So when he goes on about this messy home…
I'd always wish he'd leave it alone!
Cos I always I tell him there's always worse!
And of course, that's the reason for this verse!

So I went to the house to see aunty Bett,
And holy cow!  What a nightmare I met!
‘Come and see for yourself!' Rich said with a grin!
Well oh cor blimey, you need to be thin!

Cos there's a million boxes all over the floor,
I almost couldn't get through the door!
My eyes agog, oh holy cow what a house of hell!
Trust me true the room did swell!

Cos the boxes were stacked up to the ceiling high,
If this was my house, I'd break down and cry!
In the front room though, it's really cosy…
And its not that I was being nosey…!

But even there it was a bit of a tip!
This lad certainly – wasn't that hip!
The house of hell is an understatement you see!
And there was more, oh glory be!!

In the middle room, how do I explain?
But this was a holy mess again!
There was hardly a gap to climb on through,
I looked at it wondering what I'd do!

I look to the left, I looked to the right,
Oh gee wiz – what a ruddy sight!
Well I waded through, my life in his hands,
‘It's ok,' he laughed, ‘I've got loads of plans!'

Step-toe and son have nothing on him,
If there was a certificate - this lad would win!
For owning and living in the house of this state,
Where a million boxes – ceiling high, I was berate!

All he did was laugh the day away…
I was lost for words, didn't know what to say!
So I pushed my way through flippin' this mire,
Where the boxes got even worse - and higher!

So eyes wide open, I fought my way through,
It was a nightmare and so hard to do!
He has printers and gadgets all over the floor!
It was that bad, I couldn't even see the door!

I closed my eyes and offered up a prayer,
Praying the kitchen was a little clear!
But oh, my God!  That was a shock too!
Cos he had two cookers, oh what a to-do!

‘Oh hell!  Rich!' I said in fear!
Cor blimey and cod fish! I was in fear!
He laughed as he will, but he's dead meat,
If I had a fall, cos getting through was a feat!

Two kettles sat on the worktop too!
And 3 deep fat fryers…what did this lad do!
To make such a mess, to be so up the wall,
As a rubbish tip man he would give his all!

Eyes all a twinkle, and I big grin on his face!
I couldn't believe it, what a disgrace!
‘Oh God, oh dear,' I thought to myself this day,
I offered up prayers - so hard did I pray!!

‘Next up the stairs!'  Rich said to me,
Oh what a shock, what a mess met me!
3 computers and bits thrown all over his bedroom,
The shock of the mess almost made me swoon!

‘Cor blimey!' I said, ‘what the hell's wrong!'
It's gona take forever to sort, a lifetime long!'
Two filing cabinets in the middle of the room,
It looks like a dungeon, all doom and gloom!

His desks in the corner, oh glory be!
What a terrible state - it's a sight to see!
Boxes and boxes stacked up high!
The sight was amazing, I wanted to cry!

But he's in the middle – of sorting it out,
And sort it he will, there is no doubt!
Cos I'm on his case, and there I'll stay!
Until it's a palace – on that miracle day!

That miracle is possible, there is no mistake,
Cos I have to be honest, his sanity's at stake!
I told him, I did, I said; ‘Richie, please,
Sort out this mess!'  As he whispered…'Oh jeeze!

He knows the score - he knows I won't let it be,
Cos one thing's for sure, he aint as stubborn as me!

That Day's A-Coming!

(And The Mess?  I'm Kidding Of Course, I Think)!
