Precious Few

I wish my friends to be everlasting
no expiration date, always giving me food for thought
but never stealing off my plate
I want friends who are unconditional
no strings attached, one who embraces you
but never stabs you in the back
I hope to form warm and fond memories
my forgiveness will never give way to bitterness
but is there a line that never should be crossed?
an unspoken rule...well unfortunately only a precious few
will ever not cross that line, they will be faithful
unwavering in your need and their love for you
will stand the test of time
friendships come and go just like the wind
but the few houses left after the storm
well that's the ones that will always stay
such a precious few...
