Heart Of The Matter

Moonshine (A Sonnet)

I've never seen the moon shine quite so bright,
To cast its eerie glow for miles around,
And through the darkest sky still shines a light,
And in this light my inner peace is found,
I wonder if you see it as I do,
A shining orb suspended in the sky,
And even darkest night presents a view,
For solitary souls, as you and I,
And as I watch the moon I feel that still,
The peace and deep contentment of my heart,
Will somehow find its way to you until,
You realise there was no need to part.

I've never seen the moon shine quite so bright,
Nor ever found a love that felt so right.
