Driving Through Chicago
It struck me
As beautiful
It was so ugly
Cold
Damp
Dirty
Sticky

Down
Lapis
Gold and Silver
Paused breath

LOUD! LOUD!
Noises there were
Until peace amongst

Upon
My light
Spirit
Radiating
Up until the moment
It burst
Striking me
Almost As ugly
Until I opened both eyes
And saw
It was beautiful.
