Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god
Indian Things
Today, I will raise my head high,
And praise the winds that have blown my thoughts about.
I will surrender any anger to the stars
To fuel them for a million more years.
I will release a part of myself into the sky,
Become a bit of something passing by.
I will open my heart to accept both insults and compliments,
And then swim with them in the bay.
I will grab for a future that may be useless,
Because I have nothing better to do.
I will smile into the moon,
As it stares me down.
I will reach up and touch the sun,
Grab some fire for myself.
I will do all these things an Indian does,
Because these are things an Indian should do.
