  ONE DAY AT A TIME

A SWITCH WITH NO LIGHT

Sensing like an on and off switch,
when turned on, there's no light,
when turned off, it's the same.
How can I then envision?

Light essential for vision,
one of my senses blessed to have,
hearing the noise of mankind,
at times, wishing I could not.

By touching material things,
I can feel my way around,
when there is nothing to grope,
then, I am totally lost.

A switch turned on and off endlessly,
can  ignite the circuits to which  connected,
an endless flame has contaminated my soul,
as infinite switches have been kindled.

With hope and faith of the flames to fade,
evaporating into the thin air I breath,
and by never, ever surfacing again,
only then will I be cleansed free.

If there's no light when I turn on a switch,
I will be thankful, for I'll know I am now free,
with liberty to mend circulation of my senses,
revealing  nature's light, each day I open my eyes.

I refuse to allow darkness to enlighten me,
For I believe the Lord's serenity will guide me,
through His paths of life's given choices,
fearless of a switch with no light.
