 A   Journey  Through  The  Heart

Who  sits  on  the  throne
Of  my  heart  LORD,
All  along  I've  said  it  was  you,
Then  one  day  I  decided
To  search  and  see,
If  that  were  really  true

As  I  quietly  opened
That  long  forgotten  door,
I  was  bewildered  to  see,
It  wasn't  you  anymore

I  felt  as  if  my  heart
Would  break,
When  I  seen  all the  things,
That  had  taken  your  place

Humility  had  been  stolen
By  ungodly  pride,
Peace  was  gone,
And  in  it's  place
Stood  arrogance  and  strife

I  looked  for  goodness
And  found  selfishness
Had  invaded  it's  space,
I  began  to  tremble,
Tears  fell  down  my  face

I  cried  out  to  joy,
To  bring  me  some  gladness,
Just  to  find  it  had  been  buried,
Beneath  a  mountain  of  sadness

Love  "oh"  love,
Surely  your  still  there,
But  the  place  where  it  had  lived,
Was  now  empty  and  bare

Oh  grace,  how  could  this  happen?
I  was  so  unaware,
I'm  but  a  white  washed  sepulcher,
Standing here.
