~Under The Sun~
(Unrhyming Couplet)
Before I'm touched I need to grow
To find my own place under the sun...
To touch the ground where a new sparkle glows
And steps to lead me exactly where life begun...
Gentle the light arrives with dawn at last
Dissolving softly in all the verdant blades of grass,
Where yielding, and more supple now are the shadows steadfast...
Growing apart from all this fleeting mass of golden sand...
I need to roam through the roads and the fields,
To visit one more time all the places in my mind I beheld
Before I am touched I need to grow...
To find my own place under the sun
To find my own place under the sun...
And nothing more.
