Black rose.

Empty sadness
Within a soul
Observed, a heart
Fallen to a minor role.

Sleeping off the hurt
Comfort in foetal repose
A turner painted sky
Within a dreamy doze.

A black rose stands alone
Among a sea of red flowers
A loneliness you empathise
A need within empowers.

Swimming in an ocean red
Petals open to reveal
A hearts past desire
To become tangible and real.

Your eyes see a radiance
Lighting a love once dead
A tear falls upon silk
As your soul leaves the bed.

From above you look back
To see yourself and understand
Upon your face a smile in place
Black petals in your hand.
