Lost Voice
To everyone that I hold dear
Please know I have no choice
Not a poem now to write
For my heart has lost its voice
It isn't sadness that overwhelms
Just the tasks I face each day
That took these precious whispered words
And whisked them fast away
So many thoughts spin in my mind
But the words just can't be found
I've listened for my heart to speak
Yet it doesn't make a sound
Such a frustration this truly is
Dulled senses that once did rejoice
If only I had a map to search and find
I would go looking for my hearts' lost voice
