The Trouble Tree

You know that little tree out by
the front door. That's my trouble
tree.

At days end, when all of the day's
troubles weigh heavy on my mind,
and I arrive home from work tired
and unkind.

I just stop at my little trouble tree
and deposit on it strong branches
my trouble of the day.

That way, I don't carry my troubles
into my home and be unkind to my
family for no reason they know.

The next morning, when I leave for work,
I stop at my trouble tree and pick up my
troubles, but each morning they seem to be
fewer and lighter than the night before.

So if your problems become to heavy to
carry, just plant you a trouble tree by
your front door and you'll be surprised
how much fruit it will bear.

Note: I got the idea for this poem from a friend that e-mail me a story about a trouble tree.
