When I was your everything
We would talk on the phone for hours
You'd whisper sweet things in my ear
Send me gifts and bunches of flowers
When I was your everything
You'd say I love you all of the time
You'd tell me how much you wanted to hold me
You'd make sure I knew that you were mine
When I was your everything
It would tear you in two to hear me cry
You'd go out of your way to make me laugh
And you'd gently wipe the pain from my eyes
When I was your everything
You'd say that I completed you as a man
But the most amazing thing of all
Is that to this day I still am
