The Faithful PastorDedicated to all Pastors faithfully serving the Lord. Young and old people sit together in church Needing to quench their desired search, For the One who created them. In every hand there's an open book. On every face a joyful look… Voices unite singing a hymn. The pastor begins with earnest prayer Eyes are focused and begin to stare As people get ready for the sermon. “Believe in the One that died for us. Trust in our Savior, Lord Jesus. Days are no longer grim.” “The Son of God's light cannot be put out! All ye people now dance and shout!" The church is now filled to the brim. His commanding voice touches each ear. Words are spoken to take away fear, They need only believe in Him. The pastor will teach them to understand That everyone needs to take God's hand Whether the days are bright or dim. The pastor always helps others to find the True Way with words of wisdom that God urged him to say... now quietly praying for all to believe in Him. Jeremiah 3:15 and I will give you shepherds according to my heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. Julie Pisacane © 2004 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
