 WHEN I TURNED SEVENTEEN

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

When I was Sweet Sixteen, it was a very good year,
I will remember the days,
When small-town boys, showed up taller than before,
Seeking a friendship to last.
When I was Sweet Sixteen.

Now that I'm Seventeen, I'm wiser than before,
I still have much to learn,
As the years of adulthood creep up on me,
I'll still be young and carefree,
Now that I'm seventeen.

When I reach Twenty-One, I hope it's one of my best,
When I'll be crowned an adult,
Walk with pride, with my head held up high,
As I teach young ones to learn the knowledge I yearn to give,
It will be the start of a new life.

When that special someone enters my life with endless love,
He will get much more in return,
For I'll respect him back, for loving me so grand,
When he pops the question, I will say "yes,"
To the everlasting circle, as we become one.

Throughout the years that go by, I will remember a tune,
One I first heard when I turned Seventeen.
I came to tears listening to lyrics of a lovely melody,
As she played part of it for me,
She told me that some day,
In the Autumn of my life,
I will reflect to all the lyrics of this song,
And will always remember, when I turned Seventeen.
