Yellow Ribbons

She tied her yellow ribbons
around the oak tree in the yard
then signed and sealed a message
with kisses on the card.

Her love on active duty
she sends letters everyday
He's fighting for our Country
so very far away.

She fights her own war here
in her bedroom all alone
holds tightly to his pillow
and prays that He'll come home.

That yellow ribbon of hope
tied with all her love
is her own silent prayer
to Heaven up above.
