Poetry of the Insane
Monday Go Away
The fire alarm broke my slumber
Down the hall I must lumber
Turning off the cursed thing
which only reacted to son's shower steam
Always something creating stress
especially on Monday, there is a mess
Why does getting 3 kids ready for school
make me feel like the biggest fool?
At respective ages of 5, 8, and even thirteen,
they can dress themselves so why a scene?
The oldest is yelling at the slowness of others
the daughter screaming she hates her brothers.
There are clothes on the floor; the bathroom is soaked,
The youngest's clothes are mismatched like a huge joke.
The house is filled with chaos and panic
It raises my ire as I get really frantic.
There on the kitchen floor the dog's made a mess
only increasing my long-standing distress
She needs to be let outside
Before the children take their busride
(This is a work in progress)
Down the hall I must lumber
Turning off the cursed thing
which only reacted to son's shower steam
Always something creating stress
especially on Monday, there is a mess
Why does getting 3 kids ready for school
make me feel like the biggest fool?
At respective ages of 5, 8, and even thirteen,
they can dress themselves so why a scene?
The oldest is yelling at the slowness of others
the daughter screaming she hates her brothers.
There are clothes on the floor; the bathroom is soaked,
The youngest's clothes are mismatched like a huge joke.
The house is filled with chaos and panic
It raises my ire as I get really frantic.
There on the kitchen floor the dog's made a mess
only increasing my long-standing distress
She needs to be let outside
Before the children take their busride
(This is a work in progress)
