Deadly Thoughts

(My Deadly Thoughts (I Know) Will Kill Me Faster Than Any Disease My Body Can Throw At Me. Out, Out..Deadly Thoughts!!)

Laying here naked
Tonight
In this bed
Naked that is
With exception
To these poisonous thoughts
Within my clouded head.

I know I can strip away these clothes
But not so sure
About what my mind is being fed
My brain to my body, is fevered
Nauseated and claustrophobicly enclosed.

I cling to my knees
To ask God for dreams
That will bring me to a place
Beautifully serene.

And whilst I toss and turn, I beg
For the rotting in me deep
To be wiped away all clean.

I try to look away
From those mental pictures
Of what I have not
And look to life, This gift given
For which so hard I've fought

I know with each day I wake
and with each breath I take
That in this body, though diseased
My mind does not have need to follow

My soul through prayer, is fulfilled
And has no need to live here
Twisted in these sheets
All alone and hollow.
