Free...She broke the chains that bound her, Broke free from a lonely life, Seized the chance to go forward, And leave behind an unhappy wife. Did she regret it? Not at all! Will she change her mind? The answer is no - was only one way to go, And contentment is what she'll find. Sitting alone in her room, Looking around and taking all in, Lonely no more, she knew it was right, Because if we move forward, we win! Lonely, not at all! Sad, not one Iota! Stressed no more, but chilled, She'd taken more than her quota! A lonely old woman she'll be, ‘twas said! And would die a lonely ex-wife, Well that maybe so, but she'll be happy, No more upset and no more strife! Unhappy, not a bit! Ecstatic is what she'll be, Blissfully looking to the future, It's what she deserves you see! And she got it one day, yessiree… She did what had to be done… So she snuck out in the dead of night, And as fast as lightening…she'd run! Free… Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
