It's Finally Over...For The Child...It's been a long and lonely journey, For the child, so frail and small, To get to where she's at now, She thought she wouldn't get there at all! It's been a long and heartfelt trial, Her life so harsh and sad, No feeling of being loved and hugged, She just lived a life so bad. It's been a long and lonely battle, To hold herself together, For her father beat her black and blue, The scars are there forever! It's been a harsh, hard life she lived, This little mouse, so small, Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, No one to help her at all! Fear invaded her sleep at night, Nightmares to the fore, Waking up in fear and dread, And never knowing what it was for. So terrified of living, Inside her shell she'd hide, And every day, wanting and wishing, That this was the day she died.... But hell was all she had in life, And peace would only come in death, So harsh her fear, that one thing was clear, She dreamt of her last breath. For one day, the sun shone on her smile, And lit her eyes like a candle, so bright, Fear no more, peace to the fore, No more nightmares in the night! For along came a good samaritan, Who took her into her heart, Gave her a life, gave her a mom, And in diong so, gave her a new start! It's finally over for her, And therein lies a new life, Determined on a happy future, No more pain, heartache or strife! One Abused Child Out Of Millions! Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
