(I have worked on this piece on an off for more years than I can remember, and I still can't make it into something that is totally satisfactory to me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.)
God's Promise, and Humanity's Street
Dream of me for time is a flowing stream
Sing to my soul after you have dreamed
For I will hear your love even though I have died
Reaching out a hand of love to write upon the sky.
I'll write the secrets of the universe
to tell you how I feel
Paint pictures within clouds
to show how Humanity excels
I'll sculpt the greatest figures
to show my respect of life
Lastly I'll create woman
to propagate your line.
I'll give you free will
to discover all you can
Give you feeling to share
to every side of Man
Your eyes will be reflections
to the soul that dwells within
And ears to hear the music
where all nature will begin.
All this I will give you
in return for all your faith
Faith is in the goodness
of which we give and take
Stay with me loving one and all
judge not one another before my call.
The dispensing of judgment
with the conviction of what is right
To follow God commandment
every minute of your life
To spread the love around you
and make more of it grow
To wipe the shame of hostility
from the face of the one unknown.
So pray for God's guidance
slay not with deed or words
Justice is a payment
from the who are not heard
Walk the time before you
with charity in your hand
Bring words of salvation to others
so the may partake of God's own land.
