Assorted Stuff
RED AND WHITE, FIGHT! FIGHT!
At my advanced old age of sixty-four,
When I should be waxing the kitchen floor,
Instead I sit on the edge of my bed,
Pondering things done and long ago said,
And one thing I've not considered before,
Until this present age of sixty-four,
Is how schools pick out each school color,
Colors beside which all others are duller,
Did school boards insist just as they could,
Or did principal say colors he thought good,
Or did teachers announce that, forever more,
Their favorite colors would walk through door,
Or did some students get to happily vote
On a long-lasting colorful ballot of note?
Please inform me exactly how school colors
Are originally chosen--
This all-important question is the only
Colorful question that I'm now posin'!
When I should be waxing the kitchen floor,
Instead I sit on the edge of my bed,
Pondering things done and long ago said,
And one thing I've not considered before,
Until this present age of sixty-four,
Is how schools pick out each school color,
Colors beside which all others are duller,
Did school boards insist just as they could,
Or did principal say colors he thought good,
Or did teachers announce that, forever more,
Their favorite colors would walk through door,
Or did some students get to happily vote
On a long-lasting colorful ballot of note?
Please inform me exactly how school colors
Are originally chosen--
This all-important question is the only
Colorful question that I'm now posin'!
